As Rally the Globe has now been operating for 7 years, we decided that it was high time we reviewed the age of vehicles which are eligible to take part in our events. Up until now, most of our rallies have been open to the Pre-war and Classic Age Categories meaning that only pre-1977 cars have been eligible. The exception has been the Generations Rally which has also been open to the Youngtimer Age Category.

Going forward, this Youngtimer Age Category will be extended across all of our events except those which are reserved for Pre-war cars. This means that we will welcome cars which are built to a specification that existed before 1986, opening up events to a wider audience of passionate historic vehicle owners.

When there are sufficient entries in the Youngtimer Age Category, they will compete for their own Overall Awards, in the same way that Pre-war and Classic cars have done up until now.

If you have a pre-1986 car and are looking for an adventure on the road, our Nordic Challenge in 2026 still has entries available, and you can currently sign up to receive information on our 28 States Marathon in 2027 as soon as entries become available.

Our popular Pre-war only events will continue to be focused on cars built before 1946.
